    What to do (Dilemma)

I think you could change the title picture to a better one, it makes the truck looks out of proportion and dirty, and the light is wrong. Also the air con not working would put me off, as I would be worried there could be a big bill to fix it and air con is expected on a car these days... The...

    Coolant leak into passenger footwell.

K seal will work. It is extremely effective. Don't worry about it being left in the coolant system. Its only copper filings. Think of it like the platelets in your blood, circulating round ready to seal any small leak that occurs.

For that money I should like them gold plated!

Got the MR2 ready for the Edinburgh trial, The cruiser is not ready to tow it though! Borrowing a Ford Ranger instead. Brake bias valve turned up the day after I ordered it, just need to work out where to mount it, and make the pipework.

LSPV removal - Non ABS version

My LSPV is not working, and the bracket is rotten as well. I undid the brake pipes and they all crumbled and snapped. Thinking of changing to a manual brake bias valve, but what is the 3rd brake line that goes to the LSPV? Is it only on trucks with ABS? 2 lines connect to the side, and one...

    Horrible, horrible noises

I had this, it was the CV picking up on the bronze bush inside the stub axle.

    Alternator Tensioner bolt

There should be another big long bolt that holds the alternator onto its mount. If you remove the alternator you will find there is a sliding threaded bush in it. The threaded bush is probably seized, it needs to be free to move as this bolt provides the most of the clamping force to hold the...

6 year old BFG all-terrains cracking

I bought a Corolla that had been used only for 1000 miles a year recently... fitted with 2013 Dunlops on the front and the same brand tyre all round. Had the same problem, they were an advisory on the MOT, very badly cracked. The 2011 rear tyre was in good condition, and on the other side the...

Did some more work on the cruiser today, mostly drilling out sheared bolts, rust treating, and welding. Rust converter. Patch in frame. Synergic welder seems to be able to weld rust to air. Flatted back and treated. Jack's highchair was upgraded to FIA regs.

The exhaust and cats when they are out. They are not paticularly well made, the pipework at the flanges is very rough. Eventually, after removing the engine mounts and sliding the engine forward, and by sliding the transmission as far over as you can to the passenger side, and by removing...

After a lot of tipping the engine back and forward I found you can get the drivers side return pipe out this way but not the passenger side one. There was a paticularly difficult bracket that holds the gearbox throttle position cable, I found that by removing the shifter console you can...

Hi Ed, I have not changed nor tested the O2 sensor in my truck as it has been replaced in 2010, also it always passes vey easily on the emission tester at MOT time, and when the LPG system was mapped it we used it for the mapping. It is a component that can be easily damaged though, so worth...

Next I started taking off parts to let me get to the leaking heater pipe. When I took put the radiator plug I noticed that you can hear the siphon valve in the radiator cap opening and drawing air into the radiator. This seems to be a good way to check it is working. I could also hear sucking...

So did a bit of stripping down today, started by removing the lights, bumper, etc, then moved on to diagnosing the A/C issues. I vaccumed the A/C the other night and the vaccum was half after 1 day then gone by the next. Last night I used the adaptor from the vacuum pump to connect my...
