@JML the headlights fitted perfect and the light housing aligned nicely with the holes in the bulkhead. The shroud/cowling was a pain in the ass to make fit and needed a couple things. Firstly I had to trim some of the bumper plastic cover (see pic) and then apply some light heat to two of the...

As the others have said as long as its non-conductive and disperses moisture. I personally use GT85 on everything before and after using water or steam near the engine bay. Always used it on my Motorbikes and (touchwood) never had any issues.
Checking up on how many 90 series Collies are left in the UK and found this site. Not necessarily 100% accurate and references two types of FX model (FX and FX A). Both are showing as Diesel, just wondered anyone know if the FX A is the automatic and the FX manual?

@JML did you sort the lights out? I got a secondhand set from a guy in Pakistan. The lights fitted perfect however the shroud/cowling required some thought and light heat persuasion to fit. They are for RHD and made by Koito same as genuine Toyota lights.
There is a link on this site (search for the thread below) for under body treatments. Lots of opinions, brands and recommendations Including approximate costs. Suggest you have a review and ponder options, it might come down to your budget.

Millennials think anyone over 30 is old! When I tell my kids about black and white TV and getting excited about a new channel called 'Channel 4' they look at me with shock and disbelief! :wtf::lol:
Welcome Mick, best not refer to your Cruiser as a Landy as we think Land Rover and you'll probably not get favorable replies
Pics of your Cruiser always first and foremost
At least with Krown you can still keep an eye on the structural/metal parts, if it's painted over with anything that's not clear heaven knows what's occurring underneath...
Your right, low running costs and far more of a deterrent than cameras. Get a few sleepless nights when the dog barks at everything and anything but I’d rather that than find the truck missing or minus a few parts! Luckily the 90 is too old to have a CAT otherwise that would be another thing to...
Have you any photos of the underside or k ow whether it's had any work done? If you going to buy an old Cruiser best put aside a few pounds just for travel expenses to see a few, you might have to rack up some miles unless you get lucky. Have to say my Collie sits fairly high and is stock but as...
I work in the industry Shane and its not the deterrent people think anymore. Hoodies and face scarves are commonly used as disguise now so it's hard to get any useful images and it's retrospective. It's better to prevent than deter.
@Shayne I've had prices for some of these old services vehicles and they go for a hefty price and that's before spending anything on refurb.

I changed the bumper light clusters Bob but the bulb fit/connection isn't great and the bulb does move in the holder. At least the other side and high level ones work OK
Just had a light gold 90 series pull up next to me near Peterborough to let me know one of my brake lights not working. Had roof rack with awing and front bars. Managed a 20 second traffic light chat and went different ways. Nice to see other Cruisers on the road.
I’ve done that accidentally on a old diesel Ford but I did put in about two gallons before realising. I finished putting another ten gallons of diesel in and while it took a while for the car to start it did thankfully. Ran like shit for about two hundred miles but did settle back to normal. Id...
Raj, mileage and when you drive i.e. peak / off peak has a bearing on the costs as it relates to risk. 10k might be a little high for some or all of your cars and bringing it down may bring the costs down even if only a few £££
Interesting one that @SteveJB I've considered a tracking device. Does anyone else use a tracking device and which ones, there's quite a few on the market...
Just last week changed mine from Lancaster £375 to Axa £275 and includes breakdown, legal etc. it’s definitely worth shopping around especially as running costs are on the up!
Looks same as my 90 series Ray. Its not OBDxx anything, you link two pins (shows you inside the diagnostics plug cover/lid) and then count the 'Check Engine' lamp flashes on the dash layout. Below are the codes for a 1KZ-TE but they may not be the same for your 80 series.
1KZ-TE diagnostic...
Got to say @Raj I've been using eBay for years and never come across this. I'd be weary of any additional links and question why a seller doesn't just sell the item at the cheaper price. It will probably try and tempt you into buying something else but best not to take any chances.
@Lenny Toyota one on Fleabay now in green... TOYOTA LAND CRUISER FRONT BONNET COLORADO 1996 1997 1998 1999 2000 2001 | eBay - [Leaving Land Cruiser Club]
What happens if (as Apple did with their iPhone) Tesla or other EV manufacturers decide to make characteristic changes to the vehicles performance and so 'drive' owners to buying replacement battery packs and that's without the normal depreciation of a battery over time. Easily done by software...
@Tractionman sorry didn't clarify. It's for sellers, they automatically deduct seller fees and pay auction residue direct to your bank account. I could set up an auction until I parted with my details. If you've been with them a while your probably one of the trusted sellers
The missus reply when I told her about brick acid.... "Isn't that what you buy in a disco" (she really doesn't understand what we have to go through to keep our trucks and drives spick an span :icon-rolleyes:)
Well, whatever anyone says Krown is water resistant! I had some Krown drip off my Collie after having it treated and I've used a patio/path cleaning product with pressure washer and the marks remain :( the website says clean with soapy water but nothing touches it. Any ideas would be appreciated...
eBay split from PayPal which is why eBay want your bank details now. PayPal is or was great for me for years until I had cause to use their help with a fraudulent transaction. An item I bought arrived as something completely different but PayPal refused to refund me until I sent the incorrect...
