Hi all, my 1992 HDJ80 seems at each Spanish mot to have a low pressure issue. When brake pedal is depressed i would expect some indication that the servo is activated. Question. Is there a repair kit available for the servo. Or is there an upgraded servo available.

Thanks Felix, i will wait and see what happens at next mot. I will get a set on seals for both sides and fit them myself. Hopefully the worst difficulty, as previous reported on here before, is purging the lines of air . Lol

No, not in my ownership. Got another mot test in 2 weeks. Should I be concerned or return her to Main dealer for both rear caliper refurb.

I suspect the same but the Toyota main dealer here doesnt agree. I put it into Toyota after the 1st mot failure. They changed the brake master cylinder seals. Failed again, they then found air still in the system. They put it on a brake tester and gave me the data printout. See attached.

Hi Grimbo, there is no pulling to either side, mot test shows lower force to rear brakes and no brake imbalance issue.

Hi, I have just been underneath , the lsv is located inside left hand rear wheel area. I was going to spray the bolts with wd 40 to avoid breaking anything but, I can't for the life of me see where it can be adjusted. Any ideas or instructions from a workshop manual please.

Hi Steve, I had thought about that but if they saw it was removed I don't know what their reaction would be apart from instant failure. Plus, I would have to join the input and output pipe somehow. I also thought about removing the internal valve, thus achieving the same result, if that is...

My 1992 hdj80 has failed itv,(mot) on Spain. Rear brakes not sufficient force. She is lifted, she stands 3ft 3 inches from the ground to lower edge of wheel arch flares at the rear. She was fitted with BFG 35x12.5 KM2 tyres when I bought her. How can I check or adjust the load sensing valve.

Drained all rhe oil out, 6 litres in all. No blockage on cam cover drains. Refilled with 9.2 , on cold level is midway on gauge, when warm drops to low bar. Faulty level sender. Will get a new one. Thanks to all for help and advice.

Yes , after driving about 15kms, fully wamed up, got home. Switched off, cleaned dipstick and checked level. Nothing visible.

Turbo was rebuilt last year, only had her 2 years, she drives fine., as far as i know, i dont anybody else with one to compare.

No oil in coolant, nothing on the floor, no blue smoke from exhaust. Also gauge on dash only rises to 1st bar when warm. Yes is is 4.2 auto

When i pulled dipstick immediately after atopping engine, wiped it and put it back in oil was visible well above max level. 2 mintes later nothing.

Thanks Felix for responding. Took her out today and checked again with engine hot. Nothing on dipstick. My drive is on a slope in 2 directions. I will try on level ground tomorrow, failing that i will drain completely and refill with the 9 litres it should have, maybe it has the wrong dipstick.

Hi, this might be a stupid question. I got the 80 back from the garage after they replaced the head gasket. Today i checked the engine oil level cold, nothing on the dipstick, put in 1 litre, still nothing, put in a 2nd litre, still nothing. Had to move the truck and rechecked , its now way up...

Thanks , I will check the rules tomorrow on usable age tyres, I read somewhere it was a recommendation only after 10 years. So maybe Dot age wasn't a problem. No bulges, cuts, good tread. No idea.

I had never heard of a dot code till today. The inspector didn't say what was wrong with the 2 rear tyres. The dot code I have found is B 65 CF 41 46 15. I have looked on bfg website but I can't decode it.

I am waiting for my local garage who knows someone in another test station to have time to take it there. I have been off the road for 2 weeks now, am considering buying 4 just for the test and change them back after. Would even consider 4 15 inch rims. Desperate for a solution.

They are a law to themselves here. No details of what is wrong. She id 31vyears old and pretty sure they are trying to get old vehicles off the road. It passed ok last year. I need to find someone connected to reinspect maybe, buddy system, local mafia.

Hi, if you are going to break 1 of the 80's I am interested in both rear arch flares and both mud flaps.

Not really a shock, bad choice of words, just doesn't feel like a smooth transition from neutral to drive.

Hi all after trying all the advice, it leads to an internal pump issue. In garage now for a full pump refurb, it's only done 260000 kms but I don't know apart from the obvious what's been done in the last 30 years, so will report back when I get the results of the refurb back.

Yes Michael80 looked at the photo of the injection pump and saw a lever was missing. Not got round to taking it apart yet. I live in the wilds up a mountain so need to be sure it will still drive after I mess with it. I cant get a blanking plate here so would prefer to get a new unit and missing...

Just thinking about removing and blanking off the acsd, will getva new gasket tomorrow, but with it already missing the conection rods what will that achieve.
