Noticed a small leak on my inlet manifold last week, probably due to the higher boost pressure from the new Gturbo, so took off the inlet manifold, cleaned it all up & fitted new gaskets this afternoon, all pretty straight forward & hopefully cured. Will give it a good run tomorrow.

Where does the exhaust run to nick, and do you put anything on it to stop it filling with water when wading?………. That’s what I do, latex glove over the exhaust & air inlet, exhaust in rear wheel arch, and inlet up under the chassis

Mine exits in front of the rear wheel, and yes it does heat & increase the tyre pressure by a couple of psi on a looong run. pressures increase far more if doing a long drive in a hot climate with the sun on one side, also a lot of braking on hills / mountains heat the rims considerably...

I’m running 22 psi on my new g turbo, had the pump & injectors done as well, already got intercooler, 3" exhaust egt gauge etc etc, the difference is incredible with the new turbo & pump refurb / tune

He sold it to nene outright, that pic was from when they first got thier hands on it and if kb saw it sitting in under growth, that’s not so good. I do know that it was good when he sold it, and the mileage is nothing for these engines

Yes I do! Travelled with the previous owner who did the work on it, several times, he was meticulous in his preparations & also did some very big & long trips in it. It’s been with nene for probably 2 or 3 years though……. Andy

ive had mine 16 years now, she’s taken me all over North Africa,Morocco , Mauritania,Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Sudan, several times, Russia and many european countrie. Even now after many many off road miles, motorway slogs and local trips she still puts a smile on my face

Yes you can, but a right pain without removing the exhaust manifold, recently did mine & the manifold nuts & studs wernt too bad to get off, but I replaced them with new as a matter of course

Where do you have your sender fitted? mines on the ‘hot ‘ outlet close to the auto box, I do have additional coolers for the atf, as sometimes it does get hot when the auto box is not ‘locked up’, loaded up & on long inclines. When I was doing a lot of desert stuff it was when clawing through...

Not sure how I managed to upload the videos above, not very good & I’ll try for some better ones if these work! you can see the boost up to 20psi pretty quickly, it revs much quicker & on a steep hill , under load egt’s hit 700c

Goes like a bomb, not literally, but the drive has been transformed, sounds so sweet, picks up like it never has before, money & time well spent. Just got the underbody guards to put back on and give it a good clean up now. will try and get a video sorted Andy

My 12v 80 had no sump gasket, just sealant & when I first had it off years ago I don’t think it had been off from factory. Easy job

Thanks for the advice, got some 12.9 bolts & its out! the problem seemed to be the standard (8.8?) bolts were bending & taking he ooomph out of the pulling force if you get what I mean. itcame out quite easily with a nice crack. now to get it sent off & looked at with the injectors while I’m...

Thanks Grimbo Thought about the stronger bolts, will try and get some tomorrow, have already tried whacking it with a brass drift & copper hammer, was expecting it to go with a crack!
