Hey everyone new member just wanted to see if anyone has had any drama with the 1hz tacho and oil pressure gauge not working and how to fix? All other gauges work correctly.

Hi,
Silly stuff first, have you checked fuses and fusible links are all intact? Also have you checked that your alternator is charging at the correct 14.4v +0-3?

A new interest in this theme for me, did you resolve the issue?

Thanks Shayne, yes that’s the first thing I will do to look into the oil pressure gauge issue.

For the Rev counter which isn’t working it seems a lot more ambiguous what to look for.
I’m not sure what generates the signal for the meter to read or where that thing might be on the 1HZ engine version.

Just got access to the 105 drop box from @nick_the_fish thanks Nick, but there’s about 5000 pages to wade through. It may take a while…

My experience relates to marine engines where the rev counter is linked to the alternator which of course is turned by the crank , I guess voltage alters to move the gauge needle ?
