I recently bought 2002 4speed 1HD-FTE Land Cruiser 100. It has 457,000km on the odo and has good service history. The thing is... it has always been serviced with 10w40 engine oil but I would like to switch to 5w30, which is first of all what Toyota recommends and secondly because I live in a cold climate (Iceland). For me it would make more sense to run with the 5w30 but can it harm the engine in any way since it has been using 10w40 its entire life?
