11-15K for an LC80

Hi Rick,

I hope you haven't found your Toyota yet as I've got the perfect one for you. :)

We are selling our much loved Land Cruiser who had taken us through Africa and South America in the adventure that we'll never forget.
Now is the time for a new adventure (a kid) so a Land Cruiser is up for a sale.
This is a 1994 Automatic Land Cruiser VX with 1HD 4.2 liter Turbo Diesel. It is a 24v starter motor.
We bought this car three years ago and we are its third owners.
We modified this car to the highest standard we could achieve and on the trip we maintained it like we were never going to sell it.
Car has been modified to take four adults on an overland travel but it can be easily re-modified for a couple that would require more comfort.
On our travel Toyota have never let us down. Apart from the regular maintenance the only thing we needed to replace was a battery.
The reason why we have chosen a 1994 car is because of easy maintenance, not a lot of electrics (so it could be fixed "in the bush"), diesel engine that can take African diesel, and availability of the spare parts in remote areas.

The main modifications that we've done to it are;

* Custom made stainless steel (to take the minimum space) 170 liter water tank with Sure Flow pump, with the marine filter (and two spare filters)
* Hot water shower system with a Sure Flow pump
* Long Ranger 160 liter fuel tank with dual funnel (altogether the car can take up to 250 liters of diesel)
* 40 liter Engel fridge/freezer (connected on two separate Deep Cycle batteries)
* Pure sign 600W Inverter (with remote control)
* Viair Compressor with the tank and pressure Gage mounted on the car
* Eezi Own roof tent (2.40 x 1.40)

List of other modifications and upgrades done before the trip;

* Changed rear discs
* Stainless steel brake pipes (from Slee Off Road http://www.sleeoffroad.com/ )
* Differential has been fully serviced (rear and front)
* 16 inch steel wheels (bought from Toyota)
* BF Goodrich Mud terrains
* Old Man Emu suspension
* Heavy duty Koni Raid shock absorbers
* Polypro bushes
* New Big Endberings
* New radiator
* Serviced Injectors
* New transmition fluid
* Serviced rear brake callipers
* Changed transfer case oil
* Split charge system National Luna, with two extra Optima Yellow Top 75 amp/h batteries
* Mad Man sensor (measures pitch and roll, boost pressure, exhaust temperature, voltage, coolant temperature, automatic transmition temperature)
* Extra radiator for automatic transmition
* National Luna Dual 12V battery monitor
* Custom made drawer system with secret compartments
* Custom made side hatches for easy access
* Tail gate hatch modified for maximum storage space
* 12000 pound winch with control box positioned under the bonnet
* Custom made bull bar for maximum approach angle and high lift jack jacking points and recovery points
* Old Man Emu 4x4 steering stabilizer
* Custom made rock sliders with jacking points
* Custom made rear bumper (with spare tire carrier and three Jerry can carrier on a swing arms) with jacking and recovery points
* Custom made roof rack to accept two roof tents, camping table, 5 ft extreme high lift jack, two sand/bridging ladders, custom made 2x2 fabric owning, two safari lights
* Safari snorkel for clear air intake
* Tinted windows 3M (work fantastic in a hot weather)

Bad bits about the car ;

* The air condition clutch needs to be changed (or if it's easier get a second hand aircon pump)
* The car has few scratches that just needs to be polished
* Rear latch on a Tyre carrier needs to be changed (on a really bad roads it got loosed)
* The window tint on a co-drivers side is scratched a bit

It is equipped with automatic air-conditioning (though new air-conditioning clutch is needed), front and rear diff locks, electric windows, mirrors, rear fog lights, etc.
We replaced the seats for the maximum space and to accommodate the fridge between the driver and the co driver. The front seats are from Mercedes and the rear ones are from VW Golf.
For the same reason the handles have been removed from the sides of the doors and the all sides have been fitted with the new material.
Flooring has been removed and replaced with the rubber mat for sound proofing and painted with the rubbery paint (for garage floor or slippery stairs) for easy cleaning after off-roading.
Seats include removable seat covers for easy washing.
There are a lot of small bits and pieced that we’ve done on the car before the trip and on the trip that are too hard to remember and it would be boring to write all of them.
The car has done 170,000 miles so far (from new).
It fits in a 20ft container (if you consider shipping it).

With the vehicle we will leave some useful camping and recovery gear, tools and spares.

The car is located in Croatia. It has a right hand side steering, though. :)
It can be arranged to be delivered anywhere in Europe. Viewing the car is possible in Croatia.

IIRC this has been on sale for over a year now, perhaps a sensible offer?

regards

Dave

Well 6 months on and I'm still looking. I'm so disheartened that I won't find a straight 80, that I'm concidering a defender :o

Someone sell me a cruiser! :)
