Afternoon,

Recently I have been driving my 40 around and passenger side of the air unit I have seen some spurts of smoke. Happens sporadically, no rhym or reason to make it do it. Has probably happens 3-4 times since thanksgiving. Any idea on what is causing this. Photo for reference. Won’t let me upload a video

TIA
Collin

Could be something electrical moving around and wires burning their insulation? Would have a good look under there and make sure all connections are tight. Not sure if you have a heater resistor under there too but would look at that if you have one. Also check fan motor for anything suspicious.

As Ben says but the resistors are on top of the blower unit in the engine bay. It could be trapped wires between the plastic casing where it joins the heater unit but IMO more likely to be with the blower unit: is the drain hole blocked? does the blower motor run freely?

i will take a look at both of these options this afternoon and report back. Honestly have not used the blower in a long time.

I went for a drive yesterday. the smoke that i am seeing only happens while in gear and moving but is sporadic. i clearing out the drain holes in the vent on top of the hood. when it started to smoke i pulled over right away to try and see where it was coming from but it stopped. i think the longer i drive the less it happens so I am thinking that it could be burning some oil off somewhere? I dont think its wires since it stops as soon as I stop. I am not sure whats causing this. Any help would be great.

thanks
