The time has come. Seven fun years but I've just got too many projects and this truck deserves to be have the time spent on it.
Until a week ago my daily drive. Starter motor died. A brand new one arriving today, and I have the n/s front brake calliper to rebuild.
Next week it will be MOT'd. I'm not expecting any advisories.
Good bits:
Chassis totally solid, surface rust only.
Stainless exhaust from down pipe back. Down pipe new 2 years ago.
Suspension, engine, electrics, axles... general mechanical condition - very good.
5 very good tyres.
If it's needed parts or anything fixing it's been done.
Latest was a new digital fuel control relay from Australia a few weeks back.
Far too long a list to go into detail. Suffice to say it's driven the length of France (Wales to Barcelona... returning 29mpg) three times and I'd do it again tomorrow.
Bad Bits:
The tub is shabby. Needs a lot of tidying in the next few years.
5th gear doesn't work. Never has, since I bought it.
Timing gear cover crankshaft oil seal needs replacing. It has done since the day I bought it. Never got round to it. Seal is in the glove box.
Glow plug relay needs replacing or another fitting. Again, relay sat in glove box.
Both drivers and passenger door windows are motorsport grade polycarbonate. Mechs in doors still present. 1 door glass supplied. 1 broken by stone chucked up by strimmer.
Big box of bits. Bushes, oil seals, steering box rebuild kit.
Going on facebook next week with 12months MOT for £2k
Will sell to Land Cruiser club member for £1800 ovno
Replacement vehicle already purchased. Picking up Friday, so WEX has to go.
Also selling H55F gearbox to fit VM BJ73, with rebuild kit.
