Hi all - spent time on here chasing down parts and advice when I first bought the Landcruiser: a Japanese import (so fixed 4 wheel drive) . The Club was an invaluable resource. Since then I've spent a small fortune on upgrading and renewing the bodywork (inc. cutting out any rust / prefabricating inner wings / full respray with windows out + tinting / all new weather stripping / fitting all new suspension and shocks / stainless lifetime exhaust / modern LPG injection conversion with valve seat lubrication. The truck is utterly reliable, drives like a new car and I'm constantly asked if I'd sell it - which I've always declined.

A few weeks ago I had a stroke and while there's thankfully been no cognitive or motor skill impairment and the consultant says it's ok to drive in another week (compliance with DVLA rules and insurance company informed) my wife and I agree that sorties down to the South Of France are probably off the agenda from next year - with a last meandering trip to Paris planned this September. As this is my second car I'm thinking I'll sell it as it's going to be surplus to requirements.
But I have no idea what it's worth or where to advertise it.

In total I've spent about £18-20k and that's with mates rates on the bodywork and respray by a very capable fabricator who earned a good living in California working for a reputable Classic American restoration company. New parts are original Toyota apart from Padders heavy duty suspension coils / springs / steering bar / shocks. All to original settings on ride height / tracking etc.

I'm attaching a Schedule of Costs and this year's Photos for Agreed Value Insurance of £30k

All suggestions / advice welcome.
And thanks.

Samson

CORRECTION to Mileage and Costs - done from memory not checked actual:

113k miles and £24k invested (lotta money but not for a car I planned to last another 10+years :))

Can't help with the valuation I'm afraid - but it's good to hear you're doing ok. That's a lot of work, you must love it. Someone's getting a great truck there. Good luck

Sorry but must disagree with you on your decision to stop driving your truck unless things are more serious than you have said you have invested a lot of time searching for parts a lot of time waiting for the work to be completed and a big lot of money to get the work completed to a very high standard going by the photographs don't be like a hogwarts chocolate frog which only had one good jump in it ie your planned trip to paris you have it in you to make many more good memories use it enjoy it get lost and take the long way home rather than the truck end up on the forecourt of some bloody muppet
Did notice the speedo reading and that it is a Jap import so is the odo reading kms or miles if kms then the milage is around 70k even if you do another 30k it would still be a very low mileage vehicle and still retain a good price go plan some road trips and enjoy your investment
