1KZTE dip stick location

So my local garage finally got receipt of the recon engine I ordered (using my vehicle reg.) for my 99 1KZTE Collie and all the ancillary parts fit except for the dipstick tube which is on the opposite side. Is anyone able to shed any light on this? TIA

I think they put it on the opposite side in the hilux for some reason .

@Shayne Thanks. That's what my garage is saying so I'm hoping its just sourcing the correct dipstick tube.

Why swap it , Like as not its on the opposite side because of other ancillaries , different air box or some such .

@Shayne the tube doesn't fit. Am thinking it's only alloy so maybe can get one made. Found a guy that may have one. Two months off the road now an it's getting frustrating... Miss driving the ol girl

Surely any engine would be supplied with a dipstick and tube so how can it not fit ?

What kind of engine did your garage order?

Engine was from a Surf KNZ185 which is identical to the 1KZ but for whatever reason Toyota handed it different. I managed to get one eventually. Which is shorter and shapes to suit the ancillaries.
