Have a look in the cars computer. You might be able to clear such code after the filter has been replaced. If you have a touch screen on the dash it might be accessed there.

Or is it simply that there’s a bit of water in the fuel and it needs draining out of the fuel filter? I don’t have a 200 so no idea if the fuel filter is the same as my 80 but if it has a screw in base with some wires coming from it then it’ll have a drain that can be unscrewed.

Some filters have an electrical connector on the bottom or side of the housing to detect when filter maintenance is required. This should be unplugged before screwing off the filter. If not the wires get twisted and can give false readings. Not sure if the 200 has this but worth checking the connectors in case something similar has occurred

While changing fuel filter I disconnect both the plugs. I follow procedure in this below video.
I was changing it with every service so didn’t get warning and had the need to do reset but this video has the process to reset this warning after changing.
Not sure if it works but if we take off plugs and follow reset process without changing fuel filter, it might work unless there is water or other reason for the warning.
