Im struggling to see it in the Wiring dia in the FSM on a tablet screen but can anyone tell me if the exciter wire fron the ignition goes through the Dash bulb? Iread on something completely unrelated that some older vehicles are wired like this and if the bulb goes then it breaks the circuit. The alternator will naturally excite at higher rpm. My light is out and the symptoms match but cannot follow the circuit on the drawing as they have overlayed different charge systems for external regulated alternators and the petrol version..
Ok so a 125 amp 100 series alternator and tensioner fitted. 14volt everywhere and I mean everywhere. No burning smells as yet...after startup idle is low so I guess that the price to pay. immediately after startup passenger battery reads 12.2v but within 30 seconds its up to 13.7 Hey no need to fit HID headlights just a bigger alternator!
