.. post a picture of how it attaches to the condensor? Ive had a new blind for a couple of years now along with all of the fittings shown on the epc diagram but i cant for the life of me get it to fit properly!

Best I could manage in pitch black at -2 deg! RHS is similar to LHS . Locate the blind in the LHS then wind up the internal spring and locate RH end. The blind winds/unwinds off the front.

I think my blind unrolls off the back. No way am I going out there now! It's a bit fiddly to fit I know that much and my new blind didn't come with the plastic end clips which are crucial of course. Not sure it matters which way round it goes as long as it fits.

No promises, I'll try to remember tomorrow, and it's brass monkeys here too, still!

Cheers fellas.

Yep, ordered all of the plastic thingies shown on the parts diagram, these are what i am struggling with, and theres only three pieces!

IIRC from fitting my new condenser the blind only goes in one way as the locating holes are different. The RHS (drivers side) has the square plastic locating bush which holds tension in the internal spring and the other end just spins in a round bush.

Could well be. But mine didn't have AC as standard and was fitted as an option. Maybe they did it on Friday afternoon. TBH I completely forgot to have a look today. It may well go that way round. I do recall it being a fiddly little bugger to fit though

Can these still be bought new does anyone know?

Well I guess it's a part with a number ...

I had someone give me one. (Ooeer Matron) It'd been in their shed for years. They used to have an 80 and had a spare for some reason. Well hello, thank you very much.

I confess I haven't checked either.

It's been -12C all day and well negative for over 4 weeks now, and my truck still gets up to temperature in 10 minutes or so.

I think they were intended for Siberia with -60C and gusts up to 130 kph TBH.

It works, but I've never used it.

Got one on mine ( no air con ) does work in a fashion as needs a little help returning, my thoughts are to use it if driving through muddy water etc to stop blocking rad with debris

Before my blind falls off..does this pic help?

That helps a lot, cheers. Im back at base tomorrow so will dig it out again.

The blind is still available.

I find mine warms up noticeably quicker with it pulled down. Landrovers used to have a leather jacket over the grill, or if you were a farmer a piece of cardboard...

Maybe I should start using mine then....

I might take a walk next door during next week and have a word with my friendly parts department.

Might also be a good idea while the blind is off to strip it down and check/grease the internal spring and mechanism. Mine started sticking and when stripped the internals were quite dry and rusty.

So with help of the pictures and descriptions it turns out one of the push in white plastic things was wrong, they sent me two the same, a case of trying to fit a square object into a round hole..
