Lock needs attention now by the sounds of it, the key should at least have manually opened the drivers door, unless the mechanism is jammed.
It may be stuck through little use, as we all tend to go the easy route and press a button.
Maybe something like loads of switch cleaner squirted in the lock via the straw supplied ?
There is no oily residue with it, so won't add to any issues, then lock graphite, otherwise door card off/lock out.
Let's hope the batteries were not flat for too long to bugger them up.

I think it was a combo of flat batteries and the lock gummed up through lack of use, must admit I have never tried mine in three years until yesterday!
