Has anyone done this? What "special" tools will I need i.e. extra large snap ring pliers?? And are there any tips or tricks I should know about?

Looks like a job for TonyP the CV Meister.

Not terribly difficult and from memory, no specialist tools required. Remember to get new internal snap ring though for the diff end.

There is a post here about me changing the drive shaft which may help

viewtopic.php?f=14&t=7956

Oddly the pics aren't working, but I think that's just temporary...

Let me know if you have any questions

Pity the pics aren't working at the moment.

I bought item 160502133761 on ebay to go on - looks like it comes with everything that I will need.

Can anyone tell help me... If I want to change the outer CV:
1) do I have to remove the whole shaft first, or can I do it with the inner still attached to the diff?
2) and, if I have to remove the whole drive shaft, what bits will I need to replace i.e. how many snap rings, boot collars, etc..?
3) and, how do I get the outer cv off the inner shaft without doing the "pipe trick"???

Has anyone got/used a universal cv boot clamp kit? Any recommendations?
