Day 3 Austria to Arad, Romania
Trevor and I lost Shayne and Helen somewhere in roadworks around Vienna at the start of the day but we all made it to the campsite in Arad in time for tea
I made fajitas which were apparently a bit spicy for some...

We were joined by this 78 but im afraid we only waved and didnt say hello.

Day 4 Arad to Radu's house near Pojorata, Romania. Radu is a very knowledgable mechanic in W.G.C and i pop in and ask him stuff from time to time. He invited me to visit him in Romania the last time i went but it never happened so this time i said i would definitely visit.
I must have followed my mate google for twenty miles so ill keep checking street maps! I have to say that was a long ba%$£rd drive and we were glad to arrive, many, many, many hours later. The cheap thermometer i had in my car got up to 48 degrees C on the journey there.

Day 5 Gas gas gas!

Bit of morning sun after a great nights sleep (It wasnt boiling hot up in the hills, Arad and austria were stupid hot!)

After breakfast We set off to a nearby tourist spot Cant remeber what he called them but google say

The final ascent involved chains, It was a bit steep

Trevor chose an alternative route back

After our stroll we went to lunch, i had some fish

and trevor had some soup.

after lunch we were joined by a fecking legend!

Radu had got his friend Catalin to guide us for "a bit" of green laneing, He jumped in my passenger seat, shayne and Helen next and Trevor had Radu join him in the 120.

Top man, spoke as much english as i did Romanian... There was much pointing!

We stopped at what I think was a ski resort or hotel.

We were served sausage and polenta with goats cheese in the mix. And a none driver may have has some palinka

And there was an old ???? parked up.

I think just before these photos 2 mahoosive deer ran accross the tracks. Theres not too many photos from now on but my co pilot, with new found exhuberence decided that i should drive faster and from then on shall forever be known as Gas Gas as that's all he kept saying to me

We didn't finish the planned route as it was getting dark but it was an awesome 8 hours? of offroading/laning in places we would never have got to see as Gas Gas had to unlock gates to let us into places.

@Clive in all your years in Rom, have you ever seen bear?

In 18 years (and every weekend in the mountains or the countryside of some sort) I’ve seen 2, one behind a wall so I only saw its head, the other a ‘teenager’ or older cub, sitting on the road verge eating a Mars Bar chucked out by a passing motorist.

Nick, I know that climb, it starts as a stroll in the woods and ends up something more akin to K2

Gas Gas had to unlock gates to let us into place

The man is nuts he unlocked some with an axe - and he is the forest ranger seriously the forum needs to adopt this guy

Do you have night vision on your cam Nick because it was a lot darker than it looks in the vid , shortly after that i dropped right back so i could turn headlights on which rather than improving visibility instead showed me a solid wall of dust .

Was fun to remind Helen about the bear warning sign we seen on entry though which said something like do not be here after dark or you will get eaten

No night vision that I'm aware of, it is handy as a rear view mirror Nd I've noticed it can be clearer to use it than not

The next day we left for Clives house, not many pictures taken. Radu had told us to go round a lake which would take a little longer but the views would be worth it. Umm, took about 3 hours i think, hot dusty and couldnt see much of the lake

The journey seemed to take forever and wasn't helped by a large traffic jam as we neared Clives, I did find this hour or so most entertaining for some reason or other but i will let Trevor explain that one

The next Day we werent sure what time David was turning up so went to view the reservoir and quarry as they are nearby
