Continuing site problems....

I'm still having major issues accessing the site with pages taking 20-30 secs to load and more often than not failing with various reasons given...

This is on 2 different devices with either Safari or Firefox. Took me a long time to post this!
I'm getting the same problem on only one other website that is a similar format and uses "Xenforo Forum Software" Not sure how significant that is?

I seem to be getting lots of double posts at the moment but all else seems to work

Yep Firefox win10 I've come to expect the error message when posting and just ignore it clicking whats new to see my post is shown even if error said it wasn't .

Refresh page to reload has become habit to . Ipad is not really worth using for the forum because its plastered with ads .

Not sure why but something I read somewhere suggests to me its a server issue and perhaps out of Crispins hands ?

Do you have any plugins on your browser or anything else which might affect the connection?
That error suggests the webserver was sort-of-down but not entirely which is odd.

I'll check the logs and see if I can spot anything.

How often do you see it? Once a session, once a week or so, more? less?

I've just had a double-post but did see an error on the post which then led me to hit submit again. Do you see an error?

@Shayne - you still seeing ads on the ipad but not another browser? That makes even less sense to me
You should not see any. Mind sending me a screenshot so I can see where they are located?

I wasted 20 minutes trying to login to reply on the ipad before giving up , right now I hit whats new and every single thread is separated by an about quarter screen size , currently new ford transits or cruises . No idea how to screen shot on the ipad but others have previously posted good examples on this thread .

Now on my laptop which is not hindered by ads but sometimes gets the page not available message and so i have to refresh . I know i will get an error message when I post this because I have every time for weeks .

Couldn't screenshot the error because its a popup white box that fades main screen "oops we ran into some problems please try again later"

Just asked the boss to check because she gets the newest iphone each time her contract is renewed and thats plastered with ads as well .

Don't worry. I saw the error too. I've since found on bug reported on this. There is a fix on the way from the software co.

Don't know what, if anything, you've done today Crispin but I've Just tried the website again for the first time since early this morning and the page hanging/loading failure has gone. Logged in and out a few times without delays or other issues. Still loads of adds when browsing, not logged in but fewer once logged in. Way better than it was 2 days ago when attempting to post this thread!

Edit.......did get the "Oops something went wrong" message posting this reply but it didn't double post.

Can't say its bothered me much but then I always consider the prefix "i" to mean for girls

That said I long ago gave up on windows being of any use beside the bare essentials and can't even use it to save or post pics because it so "helpfully" does whatever it likes regardless of all and any effort to make it behave in a useful manner .
