Cooling system pressure warning light.

Heater pipes would be OK but still have potential to leek if cut through, like any other pipe. I went for the block hose because I thought pressure might be more stable there.. Strangely when the light goes out during high engine revs it comes on again when changing to a higher gear. Pressure must vary throughout the system due to the water pump. However when fully hot the light stays off even after I've parked up and done some shopping.

Light has settled down now. Goes off after 2 minutes running and stays off until engine cold. On Utube I saw a ruined, quite modern, Bentley engine which had run dry of coolant and seized. The plastic inlet pipe to the rad had broken. The broken part was still in the now disconnected top hose.:fearscream:.

Can you imagine the hot coolant/steam that would erupt from a broken rad pipe in this situation? Surely a complete numpty would realise something was wrong!:laughing-rolling:
