I want to get rid of what is left of the chrome on the front grille and headlight surrounds on my 60 series. I've done a bit of googling and it would appear that leaving the bits in a de greasing liquid will do the trick.

Anyone tried this?

Not tried that but tried to sand it off then prime and paint which turned out reasonably well.

Never tried it ( de chroming that is) but I'd recommend using plastic self etch primer as a base coat.

U-Pol Acid 8 I use as primer and undercoat , I've been very impressed with the finish that can be achieved with their power can range as well .

Liquide bleach get a plastic container to hold all the parts pore in bleach and leave for a few days it will strip of every thing except the plastic, I did my grill and light surrounds on my last 80 then painted black.
