diff oil .

Good afternoon
Please can you tell me what type of oil to use in my vehicle as dealer not able to help !!! (Not suprised )

Model FZJ 80 Auto box ,3 difflocks
Year 1997
So do i use standard Hypoid Oil or Hypoid Oil for L.S.D. ??

Transfer box takes 75w-90 and the axles take 80W-90.

But what LSD? If it has three diff locks it doesn't have an LSD.

AFAIK, the actual oil in a diff with LSD is the same as without, but there is an additive of some sort that is in it. Both axles take Hypoid API GL-5 but one will say for LSD.

and was trying to find out if it was suitable.

So the real question was can I put LSD oil in a normal diff?

I don't see why not. The gears going around in an LSD are the same as those in a std diff, but I would perhaps Google this more specific question for a definitive answer.

Yes it will be fine. I was told by the chaps at Opie oils that as long as its GL5 and 80w90 or there abouts then it will be fine. I was going to order a load of oil but when I told them I had a load of LSD oil of the same spec for my hilux they told me to just use what I had and not to waste my money.
