Drive Shaft/CV joint Boots

Hi,

My Landcruiser needs outer drive shaft/cv joint boots. If i want to replace the outer boots is this a job i can get to my mechanically minded father to do for me, and has anyone completed the job? Has anyone any instructions on how to complete the "operation"
