Duck fat biodiesel

i thought it was a good idea, until i read that it costs 20% more than farm (red) diesel. :roll:

i dont see the point on running on bio or vegetable oil, unless its cheaper than diesel. :?
 
Only worth it if you produce your own. 3 years about 50K miles in different cars (a couple of cheap run arounds, a common rail Alfa and an 01 Landruiser. 22 - 25 p per litre isn't bad though is it?

Btw most only use vegetable oil, but in theory you can process any animal or vegetable fat using transesterification.
