Hi

New to the group, have been the busy owner of a 73 SWB FJ40 soft top for about 7 years, based in Northern NSW, previously had a BJ40 wagon back in Ireland, daily drive is an 06 4L Prado, previously had an 01 50th anniversary 3.4L. Hoping to own a 79 wagon someday and get past those pesky Ngala rocks IYKYK (not taking shorty up there, too much tin worm already)

Anyway, great to be here, hoping to avoid a few hard lessons with the project car by lurking and reading, will post some pictures when I get some real work done

Hello and welcome...

There are some build threads in the 40 section.

How about some photos... we all like photos and there's not many photos of soft tops!!

Regards,

Rodger

Welcome.

I wish we had more access to 40s here in the UK ;(

As Roger has said - pics. We need pics :)

So, it’s better in places, and worse in places.
Back end is fairly porous, bonnet and doors are relatively okay, tub has a few issues, but it’s got a running 2H and the chassis is straight and has no major pitting or holes.
Considering swapping the bad panels out for fiberglass for a few years to fix the worst ones and to get it back on the road…can get club rego if I stick with original

that sounds ok. Given the age of these guys, it's unlikely to find that perfect one with perfect panels and only 300km on the clock :)

Share some pics :)
Start a thread in Your Garage where we can follow :)

Welcome and Awesome vehicle. Love the 40 series. Helped a mate prep one to drive back to Europe.
