Had a bad fly prob with windows open. However got 11/12 just now using my CO2 pistol WITHOUT PELLETS. You have to get the barrel within 8 cm but they don't seem to see it so it's easy. The blast tears the head off every time. Fly spray does not work on these smaller type flies.

I must try that with my Crossman Frank.

Just get yourself one of these.....https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Electric-Fly-Insect-Racket-Zapper-Killer-Swatter-Bug-Mosquito-Wasp-Electronic-UK/273324924123?epid=1654743971&hash=item3fa36f5cdb:g:mngAAOSwbVNbM-ME&_sacat=0&_nkw=electronic+fly+swatter&_from=R40&rt=nc&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1311.R1.TR10.TRC2.A0.H0.Xelectronic+fly+.TRS0
Far easier to hit the target even at arms length and kills anything from a green fly to a wasp or large Blue Bottle. The really small insects seem to get vaporised into nothing!
We’ve got one of these. They’re far better made and more powerful than the cheapies. I’m just waiting for the father in law to try it on himself… :icon-rolleyes:

I bought one a few years ago which I keep in the caravan and it has a lot more kick than the one I bought recently. The flies go with a real flash and a crack!

I do find it stuns bluebottles and they miraculously come back to life if you don’t get ‘em out the window in good time. Small ones get blown to smitherines though.

Just leave them on the grid with the button pressed until they start smoking. That usually sorts’em.

I’m no racket master, so we’ve got something like this in the corner of the kitchen... goes with a helluva crack when one of those big wasps gets in there.

Nothing seems to be able to resist the UV tubes....

I can't see the flies in flight. We have huge open plan house and once out of sight they might be anywhere. I can't use a racket therefore. I bought an electric fly trap which did not attract flies!! I've now got 22 since we closed the windows. They always end up on kitchen surfaces so a check once every few hours. I can't understand why I can get the barrel very close to them and they don't fly off. Put my glasses on today as I thought I could see black dust on the surfaces. It was black fly bits. Terrible mess to clean up but no flies today. Air rifle also works.

A good friend of mine had a real bad fly problem a month or so ago and his partner boiled a litre of water with some Chinese lemongrass in it, then let the sauce pan cool. Went to work in the morning and when she came home in the evening.... the sauce pan was rammed in dead flies! Seem's to have done a very good job!

Did your friend enjoy his dinner that evening Iwan? :-)

Haha yeah I have wondered how much use the pan had after that! Or the amount of times it's been washed before use!!
