Another waste of time journey today to see a rusty one! So thought I would register interest on here.
Looking for no rust at all. Automatic diesel. A cherished example owned by a passionate enthusiast like me.

Having looked at many I’ve never seen one with no rust! It’s just a case of how bad. To me surface rust is acceptable given the protection these cars had and the salt on our roads. Maybe import one?

Agree it’s a tall order. Minimal surface rust is expected really but only at a level that can be blasted, primed and coated again and regularly thereafter.
Lots of them have already been imported so I’m looking for one of those probably rather than doing it myself.

Just had my 80 series shot blasted today, I was a bit worried tbh but the garage called me and said chassis is perfect / axles all good.

Mind you, it's only done 66,000 miles, 4.2 td.

Mines done that many miles in reverse and doesn't need shot blasted

Where did you get that done Kamaal? I'm trying to get to ICE4x4 near Chesterfield when I get the chance to get my 100 sandblasted as it's only got surface rust and I fancy keeping it for a while.
