I'm changing my broken OEM headlights to Depo ones. I wasn't expecting the loom and plug coming out of the base of the headlight unit. Grateful if anyone tell me what's this for! l have a 1994 VX.

Possibly level adjustment for the headlight?

Thanks for the reply! It's really got me stumped - I haven't really paid much notice to 80 series headlights - assumed they were all the same on the VX/Sahara models, but other VX OEM lights I have seen don't have a plug and loom hanging out the the base. Don't think it would be adjustment as there is still the manual screws - but buggered if I know!

Mine has that plug, or one very similar and it's for the electrical level adjustment via the thumbwheel on the dash to the right of the steering wheel. The adjustment packed up on my LH headlight a while back and it turned out to be just a bad contact in this plug.

Awesome. Thanks both - seems like @felix2566 was on the money! Appreciate the clarification. I'd much prefer all the features actually worked as per factory - but might have to forego that for tidy headlights.

Unless your regularly towing etc where the weight and angle of the truck is changing I wouldn't worry too much not having this feature
