Hello Help needed with 79 series

I own a 79 series cruiser ute from 2000. The ignition barrel has been playing up for a while and has now got to the stage I have to change it. The videos I have watched and the manual I have say put the key to Acc and press the pin in and extract the barrel. Sounds easy but my barrel doesn't even begin to come out. Any ideas ?

Have you tried some WD 40 around the barrel and pin that needs pushing in

Hi The pin pushes in ok once the key is in ACC position but the barrel certainly doesn't move.

Have you managed to get the barrell out ? am interesested in how you went ?
