Hi all, been having trouble for the last 5 weeks with what might be something with the igniter circuit. Vehicle conks out frequently on petrol and can be proeceded by engine failure light, it is working on gas ok with with less power and engine failure light frequently comes up and resets, and can be accompanied by a backfire.
I have been starting on petrol and revving up to put over to gas which is how they work, if i left in petrol it will stall. A clue is that I have to turn ignition off before it will start again. I have replaced the igniter three times with two second hand and one new unit all measuring around .8 ohm, but they have been heating up. I think trigger may be stuck on at times ? just a possability ) having trouble getting any schematics and vehicle saw a mechanic two days last week who couldnt fix it or identify the cause ?? I dont know what the igniter does nor what is up or downstream of it. The igniter is 2 wires. Does anything ring a bell with you Gang please ? my next mechanic booking is two weeks time but you know how it is, i want to head bush ha.
