Hi!
First post thought best to introduce myself.
After doing the Budapest to Bamako rally (http://www.budapestbamako.org) in 2010 in a 110 Defender, when deciding what car to do the 2012 rally it was no question... After several months of checking the car was purchased in Frankfurt and registered in Slovakia.
Car as bought.
HJ80 12v automatic 1994, 165000km
Biggest challenge was to find a mechanic to change the BEBs, including Toyota dealers. Car is being prepped for the rally by Sandlander in Hungary http://www.sandlander.com who are doing the BEBs as well.
Mods that are being carried out.
Big end bearings replace
old man emus springs and shocks.

Bull bar
CB radio
Cibie oscar spots
2x Garmin 276c Nav units, one for driver next to gear stick, second infront of co-pilot on dash.
Seat behind driver removed and Engel 40 litre fridge fitted.
Online tracking via Spotme unit
Roof rack to be fitted for 2nd spare wheel, sand ladders and 2x jerry cans
Alloy wheels changed to steelies.
When I get the car back in the next couple of weeks I will post some more pics.
