Hi everyone,
I’m new here and have a 1990 75 series with the 2h motor, thinking of a conversion but stuck on which one, thinking of a 12ht or a 1hd-fte, has anyone done these conversions before and how have your experiences been with them would love to hear some of your 75 series builds.

Hi there man and welcome... I have a bj74 that I fitted a 1hdt to using the same 2h h55f gearbox as the one you have.

I had to buy a 1hz h55f bell housing and change the input shaft from 2h to 1hz on the gearbox. The input for the 2h is quite a bit shorter so that's the route I took.

As the gearbox was disassembled I fitted new bearings to it.

To retain the rebuilt h55f it avoided changing the gearbox location on the chassis because if you have to relocate the gearbox mount and the engine mounts then it's a different story.

When you mentioned 12 ht it would be the easiest bolt in job with no chassis modifications. But how easily can you buy one that is in goood condition?

So newer with hopefully less km's could be your answer but with $$$$ to cover the purchase fitting etc..

Hopefully the info helps.....
