How much does the forum think a 120 series alloy rim is worth, to sell.

It has been took back to bare alloy.
It has been powder coated Silver
It has been clear coat lacquered.

The rim is now "as new"

To quote yourself when I was selling two, about £30 I recall?

Ok, so about £100 each.

How about a set of 5 ?

I think I will put them on Ebay some time soon

i just sold 5 6" wide colorado alloys and General Grabber tyres on ebay for £50...
wheels needed a clean-up but not awfull

yes FIVE wheels+tyres for £50....

i wouldnt shell out £500 for a full set of wheels
less than £350 for sure

cant find that post where you said 120 alloys were worth £30 each, but i think stuff on classifieds gets deleted
but i do remember you posting that on Andrew T's for sale post

OK, point about selling 5 as against selling just 1.

I think I will sell them separately.

Folk are more likely to buy 1 for £100.00 than a set of 5 for £500.00

Gra,

Yes, this forum isn't a place to sell, it is too limited.
One must look at a wider audience.

These are not just powder coated like the first set.
These are then clear coat lacquer baked ontop of the powder coat.

And for the price, you do actually get an additional wheel.

I got an ok rim for £25. On fleabay. So refurb at say £25 gets me £50 or so. I'd be interested bit unfortunately not at £100 each - iirc the last time I watched 5 on the bay they went for £350

New rim from Toyota is £376.88

So £100.00 each for "as new" isn't a bad price.

Any way, in no rush to sell them, had them a few years now, so another year ain't going to make much difference.

Personally I would have steered clear of the clear lacquer overcoat. No clear lacquer on the market has architectural properties to withstand salt corrosion for any reasonable amount of years. That is why you see many cars not that old where the aluminium has been polished and has lifted the lacquer where it has shelled.

Graham, you wouldn't pay £100 each for them yourself, so you can't expect others to.

Hold on to them you might not sell you cruiser !

I don't need one, so your right, I wouldn't pay £100 for one.
But then, nor would I go to Toyota and spend £379 on one either.

However, consider that some Land Cruiser owner, has had his wheels stolen for example.
Unfortunate perhaps, but it does happen.

Then buy at £100 each or £379 each?

I will be selling my Land Cruiser very soon.
We don't need two cars.
I have the original factory rims on, in great condition, shod with the BFG All terrains.
Just deciding a starting price, and a starting date to advertise her.

Probably a bit late but I recently bought a tyre / wheel from fleabag for £200 delivered. The tyre has about 8mm tread on and is IMHO 90% good. To buy new is about £150.00 so the rim was £50.00
There were some light scratches on the wheel face but it was going to be refurbed along with the others.
The refurb was a full dip, powder coat, lacquer and bake plus new valves.
The guys doing the refurb were a great bunch of guys who did a really good job!
