My truck was dropped off yesterday at a secure car park near the docks at Immingham, next week it will be shuttled it into the docks for shipping to Reykjavik where if all goes to plan I will meet it on July 24[SUP]th[/SUP].
I will try to post a few photos here when I can, but it all depends on telephone coverage.

Have a great trip, are you going with Paul ?. We are planning to visit Iceland next year.

Yes, going with Paul /Onelife Adventure.

I'm going to be watching this thread with some interest!

To me, Iceland is one of the most intriguing countries on the planet...

A few photos from my recent trip to Iceland, I booked withOnelife Adventure. They offer a containerised shipping service or the ferryfrom Denmark to Iceland via the Faroe Islands. Due to work / time restrictions,I opted for the containerised shipping service. This was the first time I have shippedmy vehicle so I was a little apprehensive, but it worked well and I’d be happyto do the same again.

Stunning photo's what a place! Shame about the rain though :( Thats another place to add to the bucket list :) Good job the D1 had a spare water pump, did anyone else carry a spare water pump? lol. Was that snow or hail in one shot? did everything dry out?
Nice one, thanks for sharing

Great photos. Particularly like the colours On the Haifoss ones.
A couple photos on the plains look like they could have been taken in Morocco

Lots of geology, which I will love when we go there.
Looks like I will be needing a snorkel too

Just booked for next year with Atlas, and taking ferrys. Also taking mountain bikes and hope to ride some trails too.

Was it the orange D1 that had issues?

Thanks for posting the pics

Started as hail……, no the tent was wet when the truck was loaded back into the container

Funny you should say that about Morocco, as we discussed this over the CB as we drove it.
Yes, I would recommend a snorkel
Have a great trip, any idea of the route planned?

I thought I recognised the orange D1, guy called Ralph?

http://www.overland-rovers.com/where-are-we/

I have read his trip blogs before, for morocco etc, some epic trips for the wrong reasons, with all sorts of issues with that discovery. Broken fuel pumps, cylinder heads etc during trips.

But I see it was another disco that had waterpu I fail, not his one

Yes it was Ralph with his orange D1, no real issues to talk about for the D1 this trip.

Very cool pics. Thanks for that

Stunning pictures, looks like you had an excellent trip. Really wetted the appetite. Iceland has been on the to do list for a while, trip reports like that remind me why it's there. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Charlie

How often did you have opportunities to buy fresh food in the trip, where there many stores in the interior of Iceland or did you need to carry a weeks worth of food for example?
Is it all fish ;)

After collecting my truck in Reykjavik, I did a big shop and stocked up (everything available lamb, pork, beef, fish and so on). This lasted for most of my trip, I just bought fresh bread from wherever. Most small towns have a supermarket of some type and even some petrol stations have a mini market attached, but once you head in land there’s not much available. So in answer to your question, shopping opportunities will depend on your route, but not much on the interior.

great pictures.

at one point I was going on my own, I think ive managed to talk the gf into coming, I think I showed her too many black dessert shots at first with a black sky!

still trying to find the best way to get there with my truck, its a daily driver which doesn't help. did you gather a detailed costing of the two options with time scale that you wouldn't mind sharing? by the two options I mean shipping the motor on its own then flying out, or all of us getting the ferry?
