I had this built for me last year but have never installed it, so it is all brand new. I'm afraid I don't know much about the tech side of things but this was the build I received for a computer that would be fast enough to run any of the PC based mapping softwares quickly and effectively (e.g. memory maps), and be tough enough to survive in car installation. The plan was to match it with a decent touchscreen and an external GPS antenna. I had WiFi fitted so that I could pull up outside Maccy Ds (or anywhere with WiFi) and connect to the web :icon-biggrin:

I will get some pics and post them up.

The total build cost to me was just under £400

The spec is:

Motherboard Zotac NM10-E-E

  • Intel Atom D525 1.8Ghz Dual Core
  • HDMI, VGA
  • WIFI
RAM Corsair 4GB PC2-6400
64gb eSATA/USB memory stick
160W Mini ITX car power supply
Car computer case with mount

It is currently running Ubuntu 12.10 optimised for touchscreen in car use but is perfectly capable of running Windows XP, 7, or 8.

I am open to sensible offers....
