I'm looking for some help from the members. I am on the front end of a cosmetic restomod of a 2004 Lexus GX470. Hopefully, although I’m an imposter, my admiration for your rigs allows participation ‍♂️ Here’s the deal….

I recently purchased a 2004 Lexus GX470 specifically to do an overland build (mechanically) and cosmetic FJ40 Clone. The mechanics have been completed, I now turn my focus to the cosmetics.I will debadge all lexus reference and replace with FJ40 badging, replace grill with fj40 style mesh, and the wheels (Dean Cross Country in Marguerite White) are the closest reproduction wheel that fits the GX I could find. I have all along planned to use the Dune 416 paint (my favorite all time off-road color/finish). There's where my potential issue arises:

The Marguerite white is more of what I would call “eggshell”. I have read, in my deep research, owners relaying shade casts vary with the Dune finish. My concern is, in bright light the wheel color is too close to the Dune - appearing like the intention was to match - but I “just missed”.

So, here are the questions:

1) is it possible some Dune finishes are not single stage - and therefore reflecting more light resulting in a “paler” appearance

2) most importantly - would any member on the Northside of Atlanta (the closer to Cumming/Alpharetta the better) allow me to meet up and see the contrast between my wheels and your Dune finished FJ40.

Nothing but love for your rigs…. I would have one if I didn't first purchase a Scrambler 20 years ago and I’m loyal (I hope that doesn't further discredit my participation).

Much Admiration and Appreciation.
