KZJ78 Overdrive indicator flashing

Hi,

I have a KZJ78 LC Prado with 1KZ-TE engine. The problem comes when after running a few hundred meters the over drive indicator lamp starts to blink even it is supposedly to be off when overdrive is turned "ON". When I switch off the O/D the indicator lamp stays lit which is normal.

The ATF level is in normal volume as I checked.

Pls help me on this

Sounds like a wiring breakdown.

I assume that the overdrive is all working ok.

thats normally means something isnt quite right and switching the engine on and off might re-set it. mine did that a couple of times.

Not sure if you have fixed the problem yet. The flash rate will tell you what the fault is. I had the OD light flash when my speed sensor was not operating properly.

I had this problem with my prado in nz,it was the ecu that was faulty.Cost about $450nz to fix.

Soulkeeper, had this problem some tears back, 2lte/auto box. mechanic said try shifting between park and drive a few times, gently rocking it, whilst operating switch in between. This worked and never happened since. I didn`t have much hope but tried - don`t know what happened but it worked.
