Can a forum member kindly advise me exactly where the light reminder relay is located on the UK LJ70 series?

I have the imported LJ78 version from Japan which does not have this function and I want to visually check my wiring loom to see if it has the capacity for one.

With thanks.

Hi Stephen,

I looked in the factory service manual for you.

(Apologies for the poor quality of the pics)

Then I looked in my 70.

This is the connector you need to find.

I hope that helps.

Thanks very much Ben. The info you supplied is exactly what is required.

Illuminating Warning Relay Cabling Origin

I have checked my auto LJ78 in the area as indicated in Ben's photos and found a different relay. It has a three pin female block connector cable & seems to be for the "reverse gear warning".

There appears to be a slight difference in the main dash board wiring looms for the GB LJ70 & JP LJ78 as they either have the "gear shift relay" or the "illuminating relay", never both. I would have thought the main wiring loom would have the capacity for both of these relays hard wired, just a matter of connecting up?

On Further examination of my LJ78 halfway up & behind the mounting column for this relay is an unused three pin female block connector coming off the main wiring loom. Would this be for the "Illuminating Warning Relay" assuming that there is a further bridging cable from it to the relay?

So I would ask if anyone has any idea where the cable in Ben's photos for the LJ70 illuminating warning relay goes into the main loom (If it does) & how it joins into it?

With thanks.

Stephen
