Day 2 of stereosonic was very similar to day 1 only much much messier! :oops:

After what was a very very long 19.5 hour, 1800+ km journey we made it to Byron Bay and were now enjoying a relaxing few days on the beach. Life Is good. :icon-cool:

Staying in Byron for a while longer now as weve met an amazing Australian couple. :icon-cool:

When I met them yesterday and we got chatting I got this overwhelming feeling that good things were going to come from meeting them. Its the same feeling I got when I met Michael for the first time, and that sure as hell changed my life for the better.

As well as being awesome people they have a lot of contacts in the mines and she used to work in the mines.

The Canning is an awesome trip, I did it ten years ago in mid November, managed to sneak thru before any heavy rains.

Has to be on wish list again, how about it Ben, after the Simpson!

As well as our epic Simpson Trip next year there is a chance I may also get to go on a trip to the Kimberleys. :pray:

I'm 2.5 weeks in to my 4 week holiday and things are going really well! :dance:

We had an awesome day jet skiing, hand gun shooting (44 magnum!) :icon-twisted:, and a day at a water park, all on the Gold Coast. Then we went on a 3 day trip up to Agnes Waters where we spent a day snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef.

Now were staying on the Sunshine Coast with the friends we made in Byron Bay. They invited us to stay with them over Christmas and on boxing day were all off to a music festival together! :dance:

Still got another 1.5 weeks before Danny flies back to the UK from Melbourne. Then I've got one more week off to fix LJ and get out and do some 4wding! :icon-cool:

I've been really really impressed with the Engel fridge! :clap:

It ran for 3 days while I went on the reef trip and when I got back the fridge was still running and the battery had plenty of life left in it so the car fired straight up! :dance:

If I was building LJ up as an overland vehicle I'm not sure I would bother fitting another battery for the fridge. I'm going to fit a 3rd battery as when I'm doing a lot of extreme winching I currently end up flattening both batteries, even with the much higher output alternator. So the extra battery will help with that, but I can see its certainly not needed for the fridge as it is unlikely I would ever be camped up for more than 3 days. :think:

Driving through the Kimberleys and up to Mitchell Plateau in a 1975 FJ45 troop carrier counts as one of, if not the best thing I have ever done. My tip is take your time, at least a few weeks. There are some amazing canyons and camping spots, some of which require long drives up rocky river beds. Taking the detour up to Mitchell Plateau is an absolute must. Most people miss it due to the distance but it is worth enduring the endless corrugations for. If I could do it again I'd spend a month. The biggest challenges other than the corrugations are the flies and the intense heat, both of which you end up being fine with.

I would love to spend a month up there, ideally longer and one day I will for sure! :dance:

But the trip that I may be able to get on is on a very tight schedule do to filming for 4WD TV, so will be quite rushed. :thumbdown:

My house mate Michaels fiance has dropped out so he has a spare seat, but I'm not sure I will be able to get the time off work. Fingers crossed though. :pray:
