Looking for advice from seasoned LC owners

When i got mine rust protected with Krown they score condition 0 being new and 5 being old or the other way around i can't remember . I scored 0.5 which is very good . Still in all the years I've had it its been a project and it will remain a project until the day i die if i'm not forced to sell it by circumstance or government .

If i won the lottery I'd send both my swb90 and my 80 off to have the chassis galvanized and a full respray . They just don't make proper 4x4's any more .

That sounds like a good move. When I was converting my van, I put 'Hammerite underbody seal' down on the metal flooring (a little needlessly, perhaps, but...) , which also seems like a good move for the actual underbelly of an LC, no?

Merely my opinion but I think the day will come when government outlaws at least older vehicles under some BS climate change/ carbon emissions pretense. Or just make it so it's too expensive to keep running them.
The LC would make a pretty good apocalyptic get-away-from-danger rig, too.

Trouble is lots of unscrupulous plaster the underside so as to hide faults . 80's are built to last so its not incredibly difficult to tart them up to look good .

agree that Maintaince & rust are main issues to look for on the 80s.

I've LPG on my 97 and once understood it works fine. Check you have LPG stations near you as they are declining in popularity (plenty on the continent)
I don't see any LPG "bits" on the engine picture so wondering what type/generation of LPG is installed (like injectors?)
