I’ve had no dealings with any of the overlanding/off-roading specialists but my personal experience over the past 30+ years of buying new bikes and kit is I’ve nearly always had the best deals on the initial sale from the bigger dealers but the best after sales service has always been from the smaller family concerns. After some crap experiences with big dealer servicing I started doing my own maintenance many years ago even on brand new machines. I use one small shop in town now for all my spares. There’s also a larger dealer I’ll never go back to.

Hey, Chris - sorry - didn't mean to be arsy mate, was trying to be specific. Billy, yep, I get you. I've dealt with big companies and one man bands - I give repeat business based on honesty and service, end of.

Couldn't agree more Mogg. I guess there is a balance though between not getting it wrong in the first place and then a business that screws up all the time and then exhibits what is called heroic recovery. I'm dealing with a business at the second that has not only screwed up every single item but has also screwed up the replacements. I won't name them, but I have stopped asking them for anything now. All of my dealings with D44 have been very good, I appreciate that yours haven't, but I don't think that overall they are bad outfit.

All companies will make a mistake at some point, the disappointment was how Devon delt with mine. I have had loads of stuff, thousands of pounds worth, off them and everything had been fine, but the first time there was a problem they just fed me a load of bollocks, which was sad. It doesn’t sound like the ones you delt with even managed an heroic recovery!
