New old folk in the group

Hey guys how's it going. Name is Javier and I own a hdj80 92 Landcruiser 1hdt factory turbo, I'm hoping I can learn ad pass on what I learn from you guys and maybe chat with a great bunch of people.

Thanks mate. I have a question about boost tee for my 1hdt. Is it worth the hassle and will it ultimately stuff something else up. I was originally thinking about it for doing some towing. I'm thinking this motor is legendary you'd think you wouldn't need to do anything to it. Could I have anyone's opinions please as I'm confused on the matter. Thanks.

I think your best off talking to @chapel gate regarding getting a bit more power out of your engine.

I have had an intercooler and the boost and fuelling upped a little which made quite a difference.

The safest option from what CG has said is to fit an EGT and boost gauge to monitor any changes you do make and not end up doing any damage.

Sounds right but I was thinking my old man towed a 18ft caravan around Australia for 8 months twice but he had the 1hz motor n/a. That 80 ser in now my brothers and still going strong.

I've also heard some horror stories of erratic boosting at the worst of times

Best off making sure the basics of the truck are in good order, tires, brakes suspension, then look at engine mods.
Check if your big end bearings have been done.
