Hello there!

Been looking for new tires for my KDJ90.... But I'm not sure what to get.
Located in Belgium so the choices maybe different here.
Not sure to stay with 265/70/r16 or go a touch higher to 265/75/r16.

BFG ko2 (or maybe ko3 soon) are really expensive from what I've seen. Mud terrains are too heavy and extreme for my use. I work from home so I don't drive so much but I still want a good tire for vacation touring.

Have done some research on the Kenda Klever RT tire, but they are hard to find over here!

Some suggestions?

Have you considered a moderate tyre like the Yokohama Geolander g015 or the Falken Wildpeak AT3w ? I have had good success with both of these on the 120, with moderate track use and mostly tarmac.

Haven't found the Falken Wildpeak AT3W in Belgium, I don't think they sell them here sadly...

I've seen the Yokohama Geolander g015, a friend of mine has them but I think it's kind of a mild AT tire? The thread pattern doesn't look aggressive.

The G015 are not crazy aggressive but they do okay in tracks and on grass as a general AT tyre. It performed much better than the Dunlop AT20 that the 90/120 land cruisers were sold with.

Plenty of people have been around the world and over the backwaters on the g015, so I won't discount it.

Maxxis wormdrive are an excellent tyre, more aggressive than the bfg at but less so than a mud terrain and still great on road, had them on a vitara, 4x4 granvia and even my trailer tent!

Cooper Discoverer are a great tyres you could try 265 75 16 or 285 70 16 depending on what size tyres are available in your area or have you had a looksee at on line shops buy them now and store until the others have worn down a bit more I'm sure a fitting place will sort them for a few beer tokens

Wich Cooper Discoverers? The ST Maxx, STT Pro or the AT3?

Will take a look at them!

In all honesty I run stt pro in 265 75 16 on me truck and trailer there is a hum at higher speeds and I would say that I'm more than happy with them and will buy them again in 285 75 16 for a change have had st maxx on other vehicles in the past and been very happy with them from memory they were quieter good for snow mud and tarmac can't tell you about the at3

Some very good intel over here.

I don't know if I should look out for tires with the Three Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol for wintery conditions

Has your friend been stuck anywhere with GO15s?
Whilst not stiff or thick sidewalled like a BFG AT so not something you would go rock climbing with the YOKO GO15 is a great all rounder which gives superb wet road grip has proved very good on the rare snow we see and have worn well as well as being quiet on the road, they're also well priced compared to others and will be my first choice for another set when the time comes.
GO15s are winter rated, they have the three peaks symbol.

Cooper Discoverer AT3 were fitted to my 95 when i bought it, were barely worn but to my surprise all 4 had a deep perish crack on the inner sidewall going all the way around.
I gave them to my late mate who offroaded a little Suzuki.

He has never done any offroading since, atleast not that I know of.

Yeah it's not that I think that it is a bad tire it's really good but one of the things is that the sidewall is quite weak I think if you look at other AT tires

I have GO15s too. I too use mostly for long drives and rear off roading. To me, they handled well in those few off road trips I did. I had them for 3 years now. The most slippery one was from recent Avalanche meet. They slipped a little but didn’t fail. You can check pics and videos from that thread to get an idea of how muddy track was.

I'll take a look at that! Thanks
