Hello, looking for some help! have found some fresh oil coming out of the intake pipe rubber hose at the turbo end where the 2 clamps are. Looks like the rubber has perished, so will need to get a new one ordered from the local dealer, however was supprised to see so much oil in this part of the system, is this normal? Its not dripping, but there is a good coating all over the engine and the various bits near the turbo.

Can take a picture tomorrow if that helps?

Thanks

I had exactly the same problem with the rubber joint on the other side - it was perished and the right hand side of the block, wiring, throttle bits etc was covered in oil. Replaced with new and all now fine, gradually drying out!

I did have a problem on the turbo side - pretty well worn out and leaking oil quite generously, but it was clearly from the turbo, changed that for one off ebay and all ok that side as well!

Although the main dealers get knocked for prices, it is a real positive that parts can still be bought new when required.

(On saying that, bought a chinese ct20 turbo, not the om one - 80% cheaper.)

Thanks wobbly, will get the part ordered and then undo the original and see if it's turbo or the engine that's sending the oil out, hopefully not the turbo!

That rubber joint looks suspect - in the second photo it looks like it actually has a gap at the bottom - certainly the two circlips holding it in place seem to be holding it in a misaligned position.

If you run your finger underneath it is there oil? the oil on the engine underneath is oily vapour being blown out under pressure.

Thats almost certainly what you can smell - the oil on the filter isnt fresh, doubt the turbo is leaking.
