Painted over Grease nipples

Folks,
The PO has painted over the grease nipples, is it simply remove the paint and pump away, anything else I need to do?

Are you sure its paint ? it looks like grease ! but if it is paint just wipe it off and pump with grease gun, then
clean off and reapply paint if you need to.
I guess the paint is just to stop dirt getting in

Thanks Steve, think the paints the whole chassis greasy nipples and all.
Will give it a go and see what happens
