passenger footwell water leak

slight water leak in the passenger footwell,that appears 'under but not on top of' the rubber mat
i cant find out where it's coming from,i assume it's either;

the windscreen
windscreen drainage blocked

two separate mechanics have drawn a blank...

any ideas lads?

Also consider the heater matrix whilst checking the coolent levels. This happens as the vehicle get older.

The heater matrix on my 80 is located left side footwell near the transmission tunnel. I had coolant leaking from the top of the footwell down and over time stained the carpet but really unnoticeable until it builds up. Taking the carpet back you can trace the dampness and leakage if its the matrix.

the good local body shop put the 120 in a machine, that sprays it with water whilst moving the car into different
positions
the leak was coming through the bulkhead with some cables...
