Breaking my front end damaged 100 during the bank holiday. This had been featured in the engine rebuild thread.

Wings, bonnet and front bumper are toast. Doors in good nick, upper tailgate fair. Grey Interior good.

PM me if you require anything, open to selling as donor for 80 series 1HDTFE conversion.

That engine would be great in a 60! Assuming it could be installed mechanically with revised engine and gearbox mounts, exhaust mods and propshaft lengths etc, what is involved electrically? I’m suspecting various ecu’s would have to be transplanted?

From what I understand, you change the front oil pump casting and replace with one from a 12v 80, this allows you to run a manual pump from the 12v. That removes the need for the engine ECU which the electronic pump needed. Possibly the injectors need changing but that's where my knowledge gets wooly, the turbo is not variable vane which the face-lift 100 has, that has its own ECU I believe.

If you're doing a FTE conversion its better to use the ECU and associated electronics as part of the whole conversion. They can produce way more power than the 80 and usually without any smoke. This is the direction I'm going with my 80 green laner having bought a complete fairly low mileage poor condition 100 series for the engine and ECU's.
