Hi all, British guy working in Sweden and i have just bought a 1990 FJ62 ( I Think ) she has the twin headlights and 5 forward gears,

A few things need sorting like steering wheel alignment, 4wd light is not lighting up and the oil pressure gauge is pinned to the H level, however I believe that these issues are common ?

Can any Swedish members recommend a specialist near the Gavle region ?

Welcome :)
Steering wheel alignment can be done at home. I crack the tie rod end lock nuts and dust boots loose, then take one turn off one side, then turn the other side the same amount, then check steering wheel alignment. Repeat until good, tighten nuts and boot clamps.

Thanks Cyprus Pete, I watched an Aussie guy doing this adjustment on YouTube a few days ago, I don’t have any tools here in Sweden so I’ll have to put it in a garage workshop, unless this task can be carried out with kitchen utensils

Lol, it’s a little tough to do with kitchen stuff.
It’s a one spanner job.

I’m gonna go buy myself a decent sockets and spanner set and take it too the local DIY workshop, you can hire car lifts and covered workshop by the hour in Sweden, unlike the UK.

Looks like an HJ60 to me, does it have the 2H diesel engine?
I thought the FJ62 was the USA spec gasoline motor variant?
What does it say on the VIN plate on the firewall?

Hi Ben,

I’ll let this forum know tomorrow regards the VIN plate , I’m obviously not an expert hence the questions etc

If wheels are aligned but steering wheel is off centre then it’s easy to remove the steering wheel centre nut and turn the wheel by a spline or two.
4WD light, it could be bulb. Does the 4WD engage? Do you have the vacuum mechanism of engagement?
Oil pressure gauge could be an electrical issue ( bad earth perhaps ) or sender issue of guage issue

Yeah checked the VIN plate it’s HJ60 variant, watched a few YouTube videos and assumed because it has twin headlamps is a FJ62….
I sorted the steering wheel alignment, now I need to trouble shoot the hi 4wd dashboard button, I have the truck booked in for a new oil sender unit and full fluid change locally!!
