Rear door *clunk*

For anyone else experiencing loud clunking noises from the rear door when driving over bumps. In some cases, like mine, it wasn't the door hinges. I replaced both top and bottom but the noise was still there. Finally found what it was. It was the rear body mount. It had rotted away and it was the body of the car banging on the chassis.

Not uncommon as I've heard, was it the mount rotted, or the body plate where the mount is?

How old is the truck?

Yep you're not the first. I had to cut mine out and replace them when I had my 90.

96, and it was the plate not the actually chassis mount.
