Rear drawer system

I'll 'borrow' one if you don't mind ;-)

Where did you get your works done BTW Paul?

Just been reading this thread, with a view to my next project.

For sliders try www.gsfslides.com I have not seen them yet, but they are recommanded by the man who owns the work shop I am making my bumper in. Also they are only about 5 miles up the road!!

BTW Chris, I was in Chesterfield on monday!!

Mmmn. Good find. I shall check that out. Going to build own for sure. Need to save some money on the budget.

Well decided to get the side fillers made for the drawer system, just need to cut the wood to sit on top to make extra storage.

I saw Sortimo mentioned earlier - has anyone here used them? Looks pretty good in terms of lightweight but well designed etc. No idea on cost but I imagine not cheap

I have a Bott System that is going in mine ;)

I have a couple of complete draws going spare if anyone want to use the same idea, the Individual Drawers (internal) measurements 89 x 45 x 13 cms Individual Drawer Frames (external) measurements 95 x 54 x 20cms, they have I believe 70 kg runners. Both units are totally stand alone but can be bolted together, they are a very tight fit to get 2 in, I am just fitting the one and them boxing in around it so I have somewhere to put my aux battery, compressor and invertor.

Looking for £60 for each of them, they are used but still in decent condition, they also have anti slam catches fitted to stop you trapping your fingers when you close them, also have handles with stay closed catches

heres mine in a half finished stage

slides and handles from gsf.

i'm going to put a top on this, either carpeted or chequerplate, going right up to the edges, battery will be housed on the right, and there should still be storage down the sides.
i'll put a drop down fridge slide on the rhs, and have a stove on a slide on the left. gas bottle will probably go on the left somewhere!

How much weight can the slides handle? The drawers look good. The Africa drawers look great, but for the price, I think I would try making my own. I just need to find someone who can weld.

i've now carpeted the back, and put a couple of hinged flaps on the sides. these have access to the storage on the left and a gas bottle underneath, and the third battery and fuse box on the right.
i've put a fridge drop slide on top, with an outlet for the power cut into the RH flap

still to go on is another 12v outlet for other items to power off, and a couple of cargo tracking rails to strap stuff down on the LHS

I looked at those sliders to Paul. Did you now that they do a locking version? Neat little finger tab that locks the drawer either in or out. But decided to go with roller in the end.

Hah, once I get cracking that is. But looking good there.

Have you not seen the price of African Outback ones? There's no change out of £1200 - maybe more since I last looked.

These are a very tidy fit from the look of things. Fancy maybe going for them myself. William says we can get a group buy possibly. The pics on farcebook look very nice indeed.
