Today I brought this 80 out of the storage barn where it had been since 2011. It's a petrol version which I ran from 2010-11 and then put away to run something else.
When I ran it it ran as well as you would expect at 106k miles. both times I tested it it passed no advisories, in fact it hadn't had an advisory since 2005.
Typically when a battery was put on and remembered the immobiliser sequence it fired instantly, oil pressure coming up at once and it drove straight round to the yard where a half hour wash saw it much more presentable. The bodywork is super straight and underneath exceptional.
It will need a little recommissioning as its stood so long and some original wheels re installing and it'll be away.

Looking better.

The first owner in 1995 was Chris Eubank no less according to a photocopy of the first V5 that came with the paperwork.

Got another one out to recommission. 24V auto I ran many years ago. Test ran out in 2013. As usual started straight up, everything still worked and drove out round to be washed. It was a great driver at the time. No locking axle diff, but LSD which worked well when needed.

Needs the bumper back on first job.

I'll get it checked over and MOT'd in the next couple of weeks.

Got some good ones tucked away there Andy!

As a side note, I've got a set of those wind deflectors to go on mine, can you take a photo of how the little metal clips go into the window channel (I think that's where they go??)

If they're anything like mine they just stick onto the window frame with 3M tape, no clips involved.

There is the remnants of foam tape, which will get replaced, but also 3 metal, kind of 'S' shaped clips.
From playing about with it, looks like they clip into the window channel under the seal.
